On December 19th 2008 Rzeczpospolita published an article “A chance for companies with options”. The excerpt from the article is presented below: 

Because of losses on currency options many fundamentally strong companies may be forced to declare bankruptcy. Therefore the Government should intervene – say experts at Fidea Corporate Finance. In their opinion the Ministry of Economy should consider creating a special fund for refinancing of losses transpiring from options.

This fund could operate on the basis of government warranties for Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. Help should be offered on market terms and only on specific conditions. During the period of financing the company would be strictly monitored. Banks would have to accept partial write-offs of the aforementioned liabilities.
